Get Hitched, Give Hope

September 1, 2010

In order to join the fight against breast cancer, Rima Campbell Photography will be giving $100 to Get Hitched Give Hope for every session booked in September. In order to qualify, the session must take place in September in the New York City area (unless you are willing to pay travel expenses). There is no limit to the type of session (i.e., bridal, engagement, wedding, senior, baby, boudoir, maternity, pet, etc.).

Here’s how it works:

1. Call now to schedule your September session. I am going to try to squeeze in as many sessions as I can, but unfortunately, time is limited. Please call early to guarantee maximum scheduling flexibility.
2. Send me a check for $100 made out to Get Hitched Give Hope. That check will count as your deposit for my services.
3. Your remaining balance is due on or before the date of your scheduled session.

Becky’s Fitness Shoot

August 27, 2010

Becky came to my studio to get new comp cards made so we put together a diverse shoot that would best represent her as a fitness model. She’ll be coming to New York in two weeks for a bodybuilding competition and I wish her the best of luck as she competes!

Having previously shot a bridal session with Molly a couple of weeks earlier, I showed up on August 21st excited to shoot at what I already knew to be a photogenic location. Their wedding day was full of personal touches and homemade items that reflected their personalities and showed a strong connection to their families. Molly’s mom made many of the decorations herself and even made the little lace jacket Molly is wearing in a few of these pictures! Here are a few of my favorites from their day. Please leave a comment to wish them lots of love and happiness :-)

Wedding Reception

Ceremony: Church of Christ
Reception: Fort Henry Club
Dress: Jessica McClintock via Kaufmans
Shoes: Bandolino
Florist: Margo Straight
Wedding Pie: Rhubarb Custard (made by the bride!)
Decorations: Bride’s Mother

Melanie and Aaron let me decide on a location for their engagement shoot and I chose to start off at Oglebay for some nice green backgrounds and end at the Aetnaville Bridge, just as the sun was setting. They were wonderful to photograph — everything from Aaron’s smiling eyes to Melanie’s stunning gaze as she looked at her husband-to-be contributed to these shots. Check back in December for their wedding photos!

Molly’s Bridal Shoot

August 22, 2010

Molly’s bridal shoot took place at a beautiful mansion next door to her church in Wheeling, West Virginia. After looking around at all the mansion had to offer (high ceilings, gorgeous windows, vintage wallpaper and a grand staircase), I knew we would end up coming back there for their wedding pictures. Here are a few from the session (one of which was in today’s paper). Stay tuned for their wedding pictures!

I met Stephanie at the Pittsburgh Bridal Showcase, an annual bridal show held at Pittsburgh’s Convention Center. We scheduled a second meeting shortly thereafter at the Coffee Tree in Lebanon to go over all of the details of their big day, which took place at Pittsburgh’s Grand Hall at the Priory on August 13, 2010. Chris and Stephanie did what so many couples end up getting too busy to do on their wedding day — they had FUN! They let the professionals handle the details and didn’t stress about the behind-the-scenes stuff. The venue’s staff were the most professional I’ve ever worked with — not a single detail overlooked. Here are a few of my favorites from the day, I hope you enjoy!

The groom got up on stage to sing the rap solo of The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Love Rollercoaster.”

While thousands of Pittsburghers trek out to Las Vegas, Nevada to wed, Robert and Joanne decided to do the exact opposite as they planned their big day. They flew all the way from their current hometown of Las Vegas to have a Pittsburgh wedding near where Joanne grew up and her family still lives. Both the ceremony and reception took place at Oakmont’s Riverside Landing and their photos were done in downtown Oakmont. Joanne was stunning in her Alfred Angelo gown and they couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day. Here are a few of my favorites, I hope you enjoy!

Carnes Center in St. Clairsville, Ohio for the reception.

#helloSAL

July 26, 2010

Last night I had the honor of being the photographer at #helloSAL, a “reveal” party for one of Pittsburgh’s most darling icons – Secret Agent L. You can read about Laura and her adventures in Pittsburgh here. The event was a total success and raised over $1,500 for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Here are a few shots from the party. If you were there, or wish you had been, leave a comment and share something about the evening!

There were lots of neat things to bid on at the silent auction - craft brews, hand bags, stationary, gift certificates, books and more...

The Firehouse Lounge was serving up $5 sangrias that even the most die-hard beer drinkers couldn't resist.

SAL set up a Mini Mission Station for people to take part in.

At 9:00 p.m. SAL revealed what everyone had been waiting for...herself!

#helloSAL quickly evolved into a dance party on the terrace and continued well past the event's scheduled time.

Venue: The Firehouse Lounge
T-shirts and Invitation Design: Melissa Ott Design
Lighting/Tech Guy: Mike Woycheck
Slideshow Presentation: Derrick Brashear
