I’ve decided to submit one of the following photos to a “passion for light” contest. I have always been passionate about using natural light as much as possible and I have chosen these three based on on how I feel they represent my ability to get the shot I want without the use of flash equipment. Will you help me decide which one to submit? Please leave a comment below with your pick and tell me why you think it’s the best of the three (from left to right, we’ll call them “1″, “2″ and “3″).

Thanks for your help!

Mother’s Day

May 9, 2010

This weekend turned out to be bitter-sweet. Nate and I had to go to Eastern Pennsylvania for his grandmother’s funeral on Saturday which meant that we would be on the same side of the state as both of our mothers on Mother’s Day. While Nate’s mom knew we were coming, my mom had no idea until we walked into her church on Sunday morning. We were able to take her to lunch in Scranton before heading back to Nate’s house for a BBQ with the sibs. It was great to see so many friends and family while home and, though exhausting, it was well worth all of the driving!

Here are a few photos from the weekend…

I took a little break on the swing and Nate snapped this photo of me :-)

Grace Ormonde Weddings has printed their first hard cover wedding book entitled “Being In Love Never Goes Out of Style.” For those of us in the wedding industry, a 416-page book tastefully packed with 375 images hand-picked by Grace Ormonde can’t be ignored. And the vendors lucky enough to have made it into her pages are going to do very, very well in 2010-11. But don’t look for the book in stores — to make its release even more exclusive, it is only available online at WeddingStyleMagazine.com for $125.

I have a few sneak peak pictures from the book to share. Enjoy!

Those of you that know me know that I LOVE coffee. So of course I jumped at the opportunity to travel to origin with Beaver Falls Coffee & Tea Co. We spent a week at Finca Vista Hermosa, a coffee farm in the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala. BFC&T has a direct relationship with FVH so we were able to meet with the owner (Edwin Martinez) as well as his family and staff. They gave us a full tour of the plantation and talked us through the seed-to-cup process. We were even able to spend some time picking coffee cherries, which we were then able to have shipped up to us in Beaver Falls so we could roast and brew it ourselves!

Anyway, I’ll save all the coffee-nerd-ness for those that are really interested. For the rest of you, here are a few of my favorite shots from the week:
